Der kanadische Umweltminister Peter Kent hat angekündigt, daß sich Kanada offiziell aus dem Kyoto-Protokoll zurückzieht.
Nach Ansicht der kanadischen regierung steht den immensen Kosten offenbar kein realer Nutzen gegenüber.
1.600 Dollar von jeder kanadischen Familie,
während die Chinesen munter weiter ihre Emissionen steigern, billig produzieren und Arbeitsplätze im Westen vernichten.
Die Erkenntnis ist einfach und richtig.
Es fragt sich nur, wann in Europa endlich einmal wieder die
wissenschaftlichen und ökonomischen Fakten bei politischen
Entscheidungen eine Rolle spielen.
Den riesigen Kosten auch für die Europäer steht die Nicht-Lösung
(die Emissionen steigen dauernd weiter an) eines Nicht-Problems
(die Temperaturen und der Wärmegehalt der Ozeane steigen seit
15 Jahren nicht an, trotz angeblicher
Rekord-CO2-Emissionen) gegenüber.
Wie lange kann die Politik den Wählen diesen offensichtlichen
Unsinn noch verkaufen?
Wenigstens die kanadische Regierung hat den Mut, keine 10,3 Milliarden
Euro für nichts und wieder nichts auszugeben. Gratulation!

Wie wir von CTV News.ca gestern erfuhren wird Kanada im nächsten Monat bekannt geben, dass es förmlich aus Kyoto-Protokoll austritt.
Die Harper-Regierung hat eine vorläufig Ankündigung dazu für ein paar Tage vor Weihnachten geplant, berichtet Roger Smith von CTV am Sonntagabend.

Canada to withdraw from Kyoto Protocol
Canada will formally withdraw from the Kyoto Protocol on climate change, the minister of the environment has said.
Peter Kent said the protocol "does not represent a way forward for Canada" and the country would face crippling fines for failing to meet its targets.
The move, which is legal and was expected, makes it the first nation to pull out of the global treaty.
'Impediment'
He said meeting Canada's obligations under Kyoto would cost $13.6bn (10.3bn euros; £8.7bn):
"That's $1,600 from every Canadian family - that's the Kyoto cost to Canadians, that was the legacy of an incompetent Liberal government".
He said that despite this cost, greenhouse emissions would continue to rise as two of the world's largest polluters - the US and China - were not covered by the Kyoto agreement.
Mr Kent's announcement came just hours after a last-minute deal on climate change was agreed in Durban.

will begin next year and end by 2015,

Canada will announce next month that it will formally withdraw from the Kyoto Protocol, CTV News has learned.
The Harper government has tentatively planned an announcement for a few days before Christmas, CTV's Roger Smith reported Sunday evening.

Ça chauffe pour le protocole de Kyoto. Le Canada va devenir le premier pays à se retirer officiellement du protocole de Kyoto sur les changements climatiques, a annoncé lundi le ministre de l'Environnement, Peter Kent.
Kyoto, signé en 1997, oblige une quarantaine de pays industrialisés, à l'exception notamment des Etats-Unis qui ne l'ont pas ratifié, à respecter des objectifs chiffrés de réduction de gaz à effet de serre (GES).
«Comme je l'ai déjà dit, Kyoto appartient pour le Canada au passé. (...) Nous invoquons nos droits juridiques à nous retirer officiellement de Kyoto», a déclaré le ministre à son retour de Durban (Afrique du Sud) où vient de s'achever une conférence internationale sur les changements climatiques.
Peter Kent n'a pas précisé la date exacte du retrait canadien, expliquant que son pays risquait de se voir infliger de lourdes sanctions financières conformément à Kyoto s'il ne procédait pas à ce retrait.
«Il condamne nos enfants»
Les conservateurs arrivés au pouvoir en 2006 à Ottawa ne cachaient pas leur intention de ne pas se sentir tenus par les engagements pris à Kyoto par les libéraux, aux commandes à l'époque.
Le protocole oblige les Canadiens à réduire leurs émissions de GES à six pour cent de leurs niveaux de 1990 d'ici 2012.
En 2009, ces émissions étaient de 17% supérieures aux niveaux de 1990.

"Grüne Energie" - Kanadischer Rechnungshof nicht begeistert
Der Auditor General der Provinz Ontario, Kanada (etwa vergleichbar einem Landesrechnungshof in Deutschland, eine unabhängige staatliche Revisionsinstanz) hat in seinem aktuellen Jahresbericht 2011 die Preisentwicklung der Strompreise in Ontario und die Auswirkungen der Subventionierung "Erneuerbarer Energien" dargestellt. Begeisterung kam dabei nicht auf.
Wie sich die Bilder auf beiden Seiten des Atlantiks gleichen:
Der "Nutzen" (die Reduktion der sogenannten "Treibhausgase")
von Öko-Strom wird übertrieben, die Kosten werden heruntergespielt.
Wo bleibt der Aufstand der sonst so auf "soziale Gerechtigkeit" bedachten politischen Kräfte gegen diesen Unsinn?

"...electricity prices for the average consumer have increased 65% since the restructuring of the electricity sector in 1999, and prices are expected to rise another 46% in the next five years.
Cantankerous consumers aren't imagining things, therefore.
Over the past decade our electricity bills have, indeed, increased by two-thirds.
By 2016 we'll be paying twice as much for electricity as we did in 1999.
Price increases of this magnitude are especially difficult for low-income families to cope with.
They also hit the manufacturing sector hard.
If you own a factory that was already struggling to survive, that was already paying tens of thousands per month for electricity, there's no way you can afford that kind of increase.
Dramatic price hikes kill businesses - along with thousands of jobs.
